Huia Infusion is an annual exhibition of local art by resident in Huia and neighbouring areas such as Parau and Laingholm, Artists. Huia is a 40 minute drive from Auckland city center, part of Waitakere City and set amongst hills of native forests, birds and many beautifull beaches. You drive through Huia on the way to Whatipu Beach, Aucklands Southern most West Coast Beach, a source of inspiration to previous and contemporary New Zealand artists. Huia Infusion is organised by the Huia Resident and Rate Payers Association, [Huia R&R].
Proceeds are for the benefit of the artists and not for profit purposes of the Huia R&R, proceeds go to help fund the Huia Hall, recently a new septic waste system has beeninstalled, Project Pipi by Simple Waste Water Solutions, a waste water system using plants and a wormorator to dispose of grey and black water.

John Green died on 11 December 2006, leaving behind a studio anticipatory with wet clay arms, legs and torsos, paintings, a short story and a book that were never destined to be finished, a guitar in the shop being mended. He had a massive heart attack on the way to hospital, just a few giant moa steps away from his beloved Huia.

In memory of Irina Yun

We are sad to have lost one of our artist exhibitors and dear friend, Irina Yun. Mother of Liann, photograpahic artist and graphic designer, Irina went missing the last day of 2008, she set out to trek the Cascade Saddle track from Mt Aspiring Hut in the West Matukituki Valley, due to bad weather conditions she never arrived at the Dart Hut on the Dart River, the South Island.
